Fit out of a 75 sq.m (including kitchen) Italian restaurant in Kensington Park Road in Notting Hill.
Lining one wall is a long streamlined flamed Macassar Ebony veneered
and bright orange leather upholstered banquette. At one end is an
‘infinity’ mirror.
One of the objectives here was to make the small 40 sq.m front of house
area appear larger than it really is.
This was achieved by the use of the infinity mirror, various
lighting effects and a minimum palate of materials and colours with
clean uninterrupted lines and allowing surfaces and planes to flow and
slide past each other.
By very careful internal planning, a total of 40 covers has been made comfortably possible.
Jonathan Clark Architects were also responsible for the design and implementation of the signage, menus and graphics throughout.
“Excellent taste, I have recommended Jonathan many times...”
Stefano Tiraboschi, Essenza
“Essenza should should please all of the people all of the time with its mandarin-coloured banquettes, wood-grain panelling and backlit bar. It's smart without being overly designer, and fills from early evening to late with a buzzy, noisy crowd.
